A Short Post!

Last night I had a third signing at this store in Farmington CT. I was pleasantly surprised to sell another 10 copies. The holidays are coming, business is picking up!

Today I was supposed to have another signing. Unfortunately the store did not receive the books in time and we had to reschedule. But I'm looking forward to getting some writing done in these next few days. And next week I'm speaking at a school.

Congrats on the successful signing! With so many book signings these days being less than productive, it's always nice to here about one that succeeds.

Awesome!! Congrats! :)
One of my dearest aspirations is to become a published author and eventually have a signing of my own at some bookstore. ^^

Thank you. The economy is making things difficult. But perseverance is rewarded by success.

I would certainly say, however, that unless you want to write for the love of it you should not make a career out of being an author. The path is not easy.

That's great!

I have one question:

How many words are in "Swords of the Six"?

I just finished it a week ago or so and I think it is a great book!!
It is very well written and the characters are so unique ( in a good way)!!

I can't wait for "Offspring" to be released!!

Hi Joraiem,

I love hearing back from readers and I'm glad you enjoyed the book. The second has a lot more material and the story is taken to the next level.

"Swords of the Six" was about 79,000-words long. "Offspring" is going to be considerably longer...it's already 98,000-words.

WELCOME TO THE WRITING SITE OF SCOTT APPLETON

"Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones." -Proverbs 16:24

In a world where morality is forsaken and Christ neglected, wholesome books are uncommon. The themes of my writing are love, self-sacrifice, and honor.

I see my generation turning from God to the gods of this world. I see homes torn apart in the pursuit of pleasure and self-gratification. Children are murdered by the millions every year . . . without ever seeing the world outside their mothers' wombs. Through fiction I strive to encourage those who are willing, to stand against these things and be heroes and heroines; chivalrous, gentle, full of righteous indignation, and the fear and love of their Creator.
