BordersExpress in EastBrook Mall

Despite gorgeous sunny weather out-of-doors, and a slow day for business in the East Brook Mall, I sold almost a dozen more novels at this latest signing. The lady pictured above worked across from the Borders Express store and she sent the janitor over to my stand to make sure she'd be able to get a book when she got her break... I love that kind of enthusiasm!

Hardcover "Swords of the Six"

Due to miscommunications during the justjacket design, this is long overdue. But, at last, I have the first hardcover of Swords of the Six in hand. It looks great.

Take note that if you want to purchase this edition you must wait 6 weeks for it to be entered in the distributors' sites. Otherwise, if you absolutely cannot wait, send me an email. I am able to place orders for them now. I have several requests for this, but I need to get an exact number of orders along with payment. This retails for $34.95

QVCC Open Air Fair

Wednesday and Thursday rode the wind. I sold another dozen books at the Quinnebaug Valley Community College and made a trip to the Waldenbooks store in the Warwick Mall in Rhode Island where I have arranged another signing.

I had a great time at the college and met two fellow authors. Marty Essen and I pretty much exchanged novels. First he bought mine. Then we talked for quite a while, discovering similar interests in World Travel, Photography, and Exploration... and I purchased a copy of his Cool Creatures, Hot Planet. Check out his site

Wonderland Books

I had a wonderful signing Saturday from noon to 2pm. We sold another 15 books (that seems to be the average for the time-being). Not bad for a couple hours' work! I really enjoyed this first signing in a bookstore. Wonderland Books gave me a wonderful reception and set me up directly in the main aisle... it was nigh impossible to miss me and Kelley sitting at a tiny table with the books displayed. I had a lot of fun. Thanks Wonderland! The pictures below are a bit blurry... maybe next time I'll bring my "baby" that is my Nikon SLR... that camera never fails me (-:

Booksignings Past and FUTURE!

Well, I had a small booksigning at Aldrich Public Library. But I really enjoyed it. The librarian was surprised . . . I sold 2 books (not bad considering my goal was 1!)

Tomorrow I will be at Wonderland Books in Putnam, CT. This will be my first bookstore event and I anticipate a great turnout.

If you look at my blog's right sidebar you will see that the Appearance Schedule is growing rapidly. I just added my first out-of-state event; a booksigning at Waldenbooks in Warwick, RI. Yesterday I arranged a signing at a Borders store in Farmington, CT...

For my out-of-state blog readers: if you are interested in having me do a signing near you, please shoot me an email. I would need several events to make a trip worth my while.

Canterbury Library Booksigning

Thursday night I set up for another booksigning, this one in my hometown library . . . It was the most successful event thus far. Not only did we sell a number of novels, but two ladies came because they had already read Swords of the Six and wanted copies to give to friends. Both of them highly praised Swords of the Six and asked when they can expect the second novel in The Sword of the Dragon series. I've been getting feedback from other readers as well . . . and it is all good!

I owe many thanks to Canterbury's staff. Head-librarian Marion has known me for years and she has been a champion for my writing career. Thanks Marion for a wonderful event!

Booksigning @ Scotland Public Library

I had another great event this Saturday at the Scotland library. We sold a few books and I did a reading from some of my favorite portions of the novel.

QVCC Booksigning

The first booksigning of my writing career took place April 1st at Quinnebaug Valley Community College on the Danielson Campus. It was a wonderful time and Kelley and I sold almost twenty copies of Swords of the Six

Erin Pagano is pictured above with me. She spearheaded this event and I credit her with its success. Thanks Erin!

I also met a group of college students who are weapons enthusiasts. Below I am talking with Frank (holding his sword). We discussed possibly doing a booksigning event jointly while they do one of their swordfighting shows.

"Swords of the Six" Released

Swords of the Six got off to a promising start with sales at Quinnebaug Valley Community College in Danielson CT on April 1st. Due to a hectic schedule I have been unable to upload the photos yet . . . but I will post them in the next few days.

Check the right hand column on this blog to view upcoming appearances. The list is growing.

Borders in Waterford CT now carries the novel on its shelves. And the Borders Express store across the street in the Crystal Mall will soon have them in stock.

Look for more updates to appear soon!

WELCOME TO THE WRITING SITE OF SCOTT APPLETON

"Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones." -Proverbs 16:24

In a world where morality is forsaken and Christ neglected, wholesome books are uncommon. The themes of my writing are love, self-sacrifice, and honor.

I see my generation turning from God to the gods of this world. I see homes torn apart in the pursuit of pleasure and self-gratification. Children are murdered by the millions every year . . . without ever seeing the world outside their mothers' wombs. Through fiction I strive to encourage those who are willing, to stand against these things and be heroes and heroines; chivalrous, gentle, full of righteous indignation, and the fear and love of their Creator.
